Hi Miss Foodie: I saw you following me on Twitter. Glad to see that you write about restos in Vancouver (although only one for now). I have a blogroll of all Vancouver area food blogs and had added you to it. I hope it is OK with you. Looking forward to reading more in time to come. 🙂 Ben

Hi Ben: I have every intention of writing about more restos in Vancouver. I’m just backlogged right now. I keep on eating out here in Calgary the last few weeks and so I have to finish posting about those places first. I took lots of pics when I was in Vancouver back in Jan I so I’ll be posting about those places soon… though it won’t be much news to anyone any more… eg. places like Kimura. I went for the omakase when less than a handful of people had gone… now the secrets is out and I’ve read at least half dozen posts from others on Kimura recently. I’ll be heading to SF soon so there will be posts about the restos there too. I’m happy to have been added to your blogroll. 🙂 I hope it is Ok with you that I add chowtimes to my blogroll as well. miss.foodie

Thanks Pat. Yeah, sure … I could do with more link juice! Oh I had never been to Kimura but I read a lot about the Omakase. I hope you post that soon! Ben

Hi! My name is Vincci and I also write a food blog here in Calgary – http://www.cecinestpasunfoodblog.com

I am organizing a Calgary Food Blogger Bake Sale in February to raise money for Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids and was wondering if you would be interested in donating some baked goods, time and/or money to the event.

If so, please shoot me an email at vwctsui [at] gmail [dot] com and I will send over the deets!

  4. As a born and raised Calgary girl (4th generation), I have to thank you for reviewing restaurants that I can actually visit! I love reading your reviews, and thanks for giving me so many new places to try out. As a token of my appreciation, I’ve nominated you for a Versatile Blogger Award!

  5. I am super excited to find a food blogger in Calgary! I am new-ish to town, and am ALWAYS looking for new places to check out. I am really looking forward to reading your previous and future posts! 🙂

Hey there! Been following you on In stage am, and was just wondering – how many AUTHENTIC Japanese foodie spots do you know of in Calgary? Still looking for REAL ramen with the fixings, and authentic sushi. Thanks for any info!

    • miss.foodie says:

Sorry for the late reply. For sushi, the few “authentic” places I’ve come across include Wa’s Japanese Restaurant and Sushi-Bar Miki. They’ve been around for years. As for ramen, I’ve liked the Shoyu ramen at Carino Bistro (good, rich pork broth) and the chili goma ramen at Shikiji. Sadly, we don’t have the caliber of ramen like Vancouver (eg. Santouka Ramen, which is my fave!)
